Obituary

Dennis Albert Welsh
1942 – 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis Welsh. He passed away at the age of 76 years in the Rocky Mountain House hospital June 14, 2018, due to complications with ALS.
He was the second son born to George and Myrtle Welsh in Olds Alberta on June 6, 1942. He grew up on a farm in the Bowden area. Moved to Jasper Alberta where he met Theresa, his wife of 50 years. Jasper was a big part of his life, this is where he raised his family. Dennis worked 36 years for parks Canada, working his way up to barn boss. In the middle of this he owned and operated the stables at the Jasper Park Lodge. They moved to Rocky Mountain House when he retired. This is where he raised horses until shortly before he passed away.
He leaves behind to mourn his loss his wife Theresa, daughters; Chantelle (Mike) Brown: Victoria and Kellsie Brown and Elli (Lucas) Koskinen: Troy and Owen Koskinen.
He will be fondly missed and greatly remembered.
The memorial service was held at the Rocky Funeral Home on Tuesday June 19 at 2 pm, a time of fellowship and refreshments followed. Cremation entrusted to Rocky Mountain Crematorium, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.

Memorial contributions may be made in Dennis’s name to the ALS society.

Condolences

Deanna (Matycio) Miskew:
Sorry for your loss. I have many great memories of Dennis at the barn!
Terry & Marie Damm:
Sorrowful condolences from two Ontario 'cowboys', in Telkwa, B. C. Back when both husbands and wives in the Warden Service were outfitted by Parks for their back-country districts, Denny was the go-to guy, for the (appropriate) ponies and tack, and the training and advice needed to care for both ... even for much of the confidence needed to get the newbies past the gate. Impossible to forget him; remembering him with fondness and thanksgiving.
