Obituary

Holmgren, Kelly E.
1990-2018
A loving son, brother, uncle and grandson Kelly passed away suddenly at the age of 28 years. He will be fondly remembered for being a man of few words and a heart of gold. You would not have found a more gentle and kind person. He loved his nieces and nephews dearly. Being an uncle was his favorite title.
He enjoyed everything that had to do with the outdoors. He was a great hunter and fisherman. Kelly enjoyed taking rides on his razor around the family farm that he lived at west of Caroline.
Kelly is survived by his mother Charlotte Holmgren, of Caroline, his father Barry Holmgren, of Eckville brother David and his wife Jackie, of Caroline, and his sister Lori, husband Robbie Farr, of Buick, British Columbia, his two nieces Alexz and Mikaela, his three nephews Xander, Hunter and Gavin, grandmother Vivia Oliver and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Kelly was predeceased by his grandfather Lawrence Oliver, his grandparents Marguerite and Holmfrid Holmgren and great grandmother Anna Oper.

“Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one the chain will link again.” Ron Tranmer

A celebration of life for Kelly will be held on Monday, May 7, 2018 at the Chapel of the Rocky Funeral Home, at 1:00 PM. Cremation entrusted to the Rocky Mountain Crematorium, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.

As an expression of sympathy memorial donations in Kelly’s name made be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 5002 39 St, Red Deer, AB T4N 2P2.

Condolences

Vicki Bertagnolli :
Dear Barry and Charlotte,
My deepest condolences on the loss of your son, Kelly. My prayers are with you. May your memories of Kelly and the love of your family and friends surround you and bring you strength and peace in the days ahead.
The Haneys:
I feel privileged to have been a part of Kelly's life for a few short years. As Vocational Assistant in the Home Ec room at DTHS, I spent time cooking and sewing with Kelly from the time he came to grade eight through his grade twelve year. Kelly liked cooking and became quite the seamster. This young, hunter made himself a two piece, winter camouflage, fleece suit that would have been the envy of any sportsman!!! He did an amazing job. Every year we entered three student's sewing projects in the Calgary Stampede Exhibition; another of Kelly's projects brought home one of their awards.
Kelly was a quiet, gentle young man. He was fun loving with a unique sense of humor. It was his love for his entire family that set him apart from others, as incredibly admirable. Everday he had a new story about his little Lexi and Xander. I don't think I've known a prouder uncle!
Clayton and I wish to extend our condolences to all of Kelly's family.
Kelly - you've left for the ultimate field trip! Have a wonderful time! Sonja Haney
