Obituary

Marlene Margaret Bauer
December 28, 1936 - July 22, 2017

It is with sadness that the family of Marlene Margaret Bauer announce her passing on July 22, 2017.
She died peacefully in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, at the age of 80.

Marlene was born in Mundare, Alberta on December 28th, 1936. At a young age the family moved to Vegreville, Alberta where she grew up. She attended business college in Edmonton. In August 1957, Edgar and Marlene were married. In 1959, they moved to Rocky Mountain House where she worked as a Legal Assistant. She was also a business woman, opening Petticoat Junction, at the time, the only ladies store in Rocky Mountain House. She later started Herbal Health, a health food store.

Marlene enjoyed life, raising her children and being a loving Mother and Grandmother. She made a delicious apple pie, Ukranian, German dishes and had a passion for piano and painting. Marlene was involved as a member of the Kinettes. She will be remembered for her smile and the twinkle in her eyes.

Marlene was a wonderful woman. She is survived by her 3 sons Darcy, Dale and Darren, and her daughter Connie, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Edgar, her daughter Bonnie, and parents Anne and Steve Zaozirny.

At this time we would especially like to thank Marlene's son Dale, who selflessly cared for his Mother for many years; this was much appreciated by his family, and we thank him dearly for it. Also her daughter Connie, who helped provide the round-the-clock support that was needed at times; and Marlene's Caregivers Solor Pansacala and Girlie Ceniza for their kindness and compassion.

A Celebration of Marlene’s Life will be held with family and friends on August 5th at 2 pm near the river by her home. Cremation entrusted to the Rocky Mountain Crematorium.

An expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made in Marlene’s name to the Compassionate Care Hospice Society, Rocky Mountain House
