Leopold Edgar Ziola
April 15th, 1927- August 5th, 2018

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Leopold (Leo) Edgar Ziola at Rocky Mountain House, Alberta on August 5th, 2018.
Leo was born in Wadena, Saskatchewan April 15th, 1927 and moved to Condor, Alberta in 1946. In his younger years he played ball and always enjoyed curling and playing cards, especially Smear, which he played to win. He was a member of the Elks for over 50 years and always enjoyed attending meetings and serving his community.
Leo was happiest spending time with his family and friends, and especially loved the west country, spending as much time as he could hunting, camping, fishing and quadding with his family and friends .
He will be dearly missed by Elsie, his wife of 66 years, daughter Eunice, son Daryle, grandchildren; Shelley, Mark, Amanda (Steve), and Daylene (Chad), and his 8 great-grandchildren; Chris, Savanna, Michael, Woodrow, Jacob, Olivia, Teeanna and Kendra.
Leo was pre-deceased by his parents, Rudolph and Wanda Ziola and sisters and brothers-in-law Evelyn Schafer, Del and Carl Kendze and Esther & John Marcinek.
A Celebration of Leo’s life will be held at the Condor Community Hall, on Monday August 13th, 2018 at 2:00pm.
If anyone is wishing to make a memorial contribution in Leo’s name, the family has requested that donations be made to the Leslieville Elks Building Fund or a charity of your choice.
Cremation has been entrusted to Rocky Mountain Crematorium, Rocky Mountain House, AB

So sorry to hear of Leo's passing. It was so nice to visit with you both when we celebrated the 100 year anniversary of Thomas Ziola coming to Canada. My Mum, Martha Ziola was Leo's Aunt, they were close in age and had lots of fun together. Take care Elsie.
Merle and James McKee:
He was my dad’s cousin through their Moms and Dads. But we respected him so much that he was Uncle Leo to us. Will never forget the evenings playing cards with our family. You helped me form the real love of family and now geneology. Say hello to our family in heaven.
R.I.P. Uncle Leo.
