Obituary

Margaret Ann Blair

September 9, 1973 - September19, 2019

On September 19, 2019, at the age of 46 years, Margie went to be with Jesus, her Saviour.

Margie was born in Edmonton, Alberta to Al and Margaret (Hancock) Jones. First Agnes and Calisto Zanutig of Big Valley then Betty and Vic Perkins of Rocky Mountain House, contributed to Margie’s upbringing resulting in the vivacious, determined lady that was Margie. On July 7, 2001, she married Patrick Francis Blair. Since their marriage, they made Rocky Mountain House their home. Margie completed the Transitional Vocational Program at Red Deer College. She entered Rocky Support Services when she was 18 years old and with the help of her many loving workers over the years, she was able to make her contribution to the Rocky Mountain House community. She worked for Dairy Queen for 15 years. In addition she worked many volunteer hours at the Rocky hospital and Rocky elementary school library.

She leaves to mourn her loving husband, Patrick, of 18 years; her mother and father, Margaret and Allan Jones; brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Kari Jones; her sister, Melissa Jones. She will also be dearly missed by her brother in law, Mike Blair (Coreen), sister in laws, Carol (John) Sandford and Lois Lightfoot, as well as her many nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her mother in law, Joan Saunders.

A celebration of life officiated by Pastor Ken Douma will be held Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Christian Reformed Church, on Highway 11, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. Cremation has been entrusted to the Rocky Mountain Crematorium.

My beautiful cousin Margaret. My heart is saddened to know that your sparkle and presence has left us on this earth but comforted and jealous us to know your with grandma and your other loved ones , all in the same breath. I will forever carry the many memories of all our antics and getting in so much trouble together for the rest of my life. I’m so grateful to have reconnected at our family reunion recently. It was my deepest honour to be loved by you , Margaret. My final picture of us, I will treasure forever. To everyone who’s life was touched by her beauty and love, I send love, light and hugs. She was well loved and cherished by many and always will be.

So sorry to hear of your loss Al & Marg. We did not know Margie but it sounds like she faced many adversities head on and was a valued member of the community. She had a very infectious smile that radiated out. She will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Sylvia and Terry Nile:
Margie was my late sister Melody Scott's best friend and gave me so much comfort when Melody passed away. We loved her hugs and cute grin when we teased her. Her memory will be cherished.
