Obituary

Leppke, Lee Roy
1929-2018
Lee Roy passed away peacefully into the presence of the Lord on June 13, 2018.
Lee Roy Leppke was born in Topeka, Kansas on December 15, 1929.
Lee Roy was raised on a farm in Hillsboro, Kansas he had two older brothers, Kenny and Marvin and one older sister, Lucille. Lee Roy was the youngest.
The family moved to Albuquerque after the Second World War, due to the health of his mother. Moving to a dryer climate was to improve her lungs, which it did. In a cold November 1970, he moved to Canada and came to Rocky Mountain House. From 1970 to 1979 he worked doing finish carpentry and general construction. He enjoyed being a craftsman and getting it just right! In 1979 he bought his first backhoe and was soon fully engaged in providing Backhoe services around Rocky until he retired in 1996. He enjoyed moving mountains of dirt, lots of tree stumps and large rocks. He drove many roads in his gravel truck, hauling stuff away. He dug many a trench during those years. He loved travelling to many places, Hawaii, Panama Canal, Mexico, Jamaica, Alaska, the Amazon River and a number of fishing trips. He enjoyed going to the coffee shop for mornings and afternoons and meeting with friends. He enjoyed travelling south during the winter and seeing family. He attended the Cowboy Church on Thursday nights and greatly enjoyed the people and the times there.
Lee Roy is survived by his four children, GayLynn, Ronald, Laurel, and Phillip and his wife, April. He has 9 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. Lee Roy was pre-deceased by his brother, Marvin in 1980.

Condolences

Lee Parkins:
Just wanted to say what a wonderful gentleman Lee Roy was. Always stopped for a quick visit whenever we ran into each other. We had many conversations over the years. Rest In Peace
Gail and Barry Horth:
Our condolences. We knew Lee Roy through the construction industry here in Rocky as a talented, industrious and decent man. We will miss seeing him around town, always up for a chat and well informed on many subjects. We are saddened to realize we will not have more of these encounters but remembering him brings a smile to our hearts.
Good Bye Lee Roy!
