Obituary

Gerald “Gerry” Evan Arthur Robinson
July 18, 1949 – January 15, 2019

Gerald “Gerry” Robinson passed away peacefully in the Red Deer Regional Hospital due to natural causes.

Gerry (Gerald) will always be remembered as a kind, gentle and giving man who enjoyed the company of family and friends, but his grandchildren were the light in his eye. He also had a quiet enduring faith in the Lord Jesus. He is well known for the 23 years that he worked at Civic Tire. Then he changed his career path and began running steamer trucks and had other short-term oilfield related jobs. He loved his sweets, old cars, antiques & collectibles, camping, gardening, flowers, pets, tinkering in his mancave and of course wheeling and dealing.

He survived by his loving wife of 31 years Cheryl (Hooey) Robinson, sister Vera (Arnold) Mottus, sons Corey Robinson (Sharra), & Clint (Trina) Robinson, step daughters; Iona (Street) (Lonnie) Langford, Koren (Street) Betker, Tina (Street) Tetley, daughter in law Corrie-Jo (Demarce) Robinson, grandchildren; Kendrick, Drake Robinson, Karlynn Mackie, MacKenna (Brandon Fisher) Mackie, Malcolm Mackie, Kyler Robinson, Dwight, Bruce Betker, Ethan Tetley, and Hayley Hall, great granddaughter; Berkley Fisher and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gerry is predeceased by his father Evan, his mother Vera (Kind) Robinson, brother Dennis, sister Gail Evans, and brother in law Marvin Evans.

A Celebration of Gerry’s life will be held at the Rocky Church of the Nazarene on January 26, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. A luncheon to follow. Cremation has been entrusted to the Rocky MountainCrematorium.
Memorial donations may be made in Gerry’s name to the Red Deer Regional Hospital – Palliative Care Unit or to the Mustard Seed, Red Deer.

Condolences

Deena Arychuk:
I am so sorry for you loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family
Charlotte Murray :
Sincere condolences to your family as well as his “big sister” Vera. My father, Sam Davidson, was Gerald’s first teacher, when we lived at Poplar Ridge School. I remember Gerald as being a quiet little boy, often at his mother’s side, as she recovered from the loss of his brother. My Mom, Molly, always had a soft spot for Gerald, and I am sure that he knew it, as he attended events that we had to celebrate her birthdays and life. She would have been so happy to know that he had a large and loving family. Every little boys dream come true.
John & Brenda Johansen:
Our condolences go out to all the family. Gerald will be surely be missed by all that ever met him. He was the greatest friend anyone could have ever had, and my memories with him, Larry and Dorian made up the greatest team ever.
