Obituary

Reynaud, Celine Marie Delina
February 15, 1935 – December 5, 2018

Celine was born in McLennan, AB, the first child of Rose (Boulet) and Omer Lussier. Her early years were spent in Donnelly and Peace River, where she attended St. Augustine Mission. She took post-secondary education in Edmonton and worked as a hairdresser until marrying Joseph Reynaud on July 3, 1954.
Over the next 17 years, the couple had four children and lived in over 18 communities throughout Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan –where ever Joe’s oilfield work took them. Many lifetime friendships were forged over this time. In 1971 CeIine and Joe returned to Rocky Mountain House to stay, later building a home on an acreage near town. They planted an expansive garden and Celine spent many hours canning and freezing the products of their labor. During the years at the acreage a large table was set for family and friends and there was always room for one or two more. We recall large gatherings, many family dinner feasts with abundant noise and laughter as grandchildren were added to the family.
Celine enjoyed people she met through her work at Caines Jewelers and Panic Printing, which she owned. She also donated countless hours volunteering with the Hospital Auxiliary, The Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Meals on Wheels. Celine was a talented seamstress and over the years she perfected her skills of sewing, knitting, crocheting and needlepoint creating countless masterpieces for her family. Throughout her life she had several pastimes – curling, bowling and fishing to name a few. Late in life Celine discovered a passion for golfing and she toured the courses around Rocky, Caroline and Eckville sharing with family her adventures on the course.
We remember our Mom, Grandmother, Great Grandmother as having a sharp wit, a good sense of humor. She seldom complained. We also remember road trips to B.C., days fishing at the lake, family dinners and gatherings, game night and trophies “just because”.
Celine will live on forever in the hearts and memory of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren: Rick and Rhonda Reynaud, Susanne and Bryan Martin, Lori and Jim Adamchick, Diane and Gerry Benoit, Natasha Lieskovsky and Jeff Smeltzer, Melynda and Mike Crampton, Mitchell and Kristen Reynaud, Danielle and Jason Booker, Nicole Adamchick, Spencer and Eva Reynaud, Paige Martin, Jessie Benoit, Tristan, Landon and Maia Lieskovsky, Alexandra, Zoe, Georgia and Everett Crampton, Hezekiah Booker and Rowan Reynaud. Also cherishing her memory are her brother Rene (Helena) Lussier, many special Aunts, Uncles and friend Shirley Tessmer.
Celine was predeceased by her husband Joe, mother Rose, Father Omer and brother Gilles.

A Funeral Mass for Celine will be held at St. Matthew Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 1:00 PM. Cremation has been entrusted to Rocky Mountain Crematorium, Rocky Mountain House, AB.
If friends or family desire, in lieu of flowers, a donation in Celine’s name may be forwarded to the charity of your choice.
