Obituary

Diggins, Gary Fred
1955 – 2017
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that Shannon, Shawn and Shane announce the passing of their dad Gary Diggins on September 21, 2017 at the Rocky Mountain House Care Centre. Gary was born on April 28, 1955 in Rocky Mountain House, AB, to Helen and Arthur Diggins, one of 7 boys.

Gary worked in the oil industry as a truck driver, push and consultant. This career led him to work all over Alberta, Alaska and Venezuela. During this time, Gary and his family travelled around Alberta finding many homes. Gary found himself back in Rocky Mountain House, 19 years ago to call Rocky home. He enjoyed spending his time camping, hunting, fishing and arguing with his 3 children.

Gary has been through so much in the last 15 months and his family couldn’t be prouder of how strong he was. Please take solace in the fact that Gary is free of pain and is once again reunited with his parents and brothers. The family appreciates and are very grateful for all the support that has been given over the past 15 months.

Gary was predeceased by his parents Helen and Arthur Diggins, 2 brothers Harold and Ricky, and his sister-in-law Gladys.

Gary is survived by his 3 children: Shannon (Dean), Shawn (Shauna) and Shane (Melanie); 6 grandchildren: Michael, Amanda, Kyle, Dakota, Kylie and Avery; 2 great grandchildren: Autumn and Korbyn; 4 brothers Murry (Val), Harry (Brenda), Randy (Jenny), and Roy; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his honorary brother and sister Kurt and Heather Dick.

RIP, Dad, you are loved and will never be forgotten and forever be in our hearts.

A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Rocky Mountain House, AB on Friday September 29 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Cremation entrusted to the Rocky Mountain Crematorium.
