Obituary

Courtright, Marlene Doreen
1942-2018

Marlene was born in Bienfait, Saskatchewan where she grew up with her 3 sisters and a brother in Estevan. In 1969 Marlene moved with her 2 children to Alberta where she met Garry, the love of her life. Marlene and Garry were married in 1977, and resided together in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta for 44 years.
Marlene will be forever remembered for her feisty attitude and outgoing personality. Her presence brought life and laughs to any gathering that she attended. Her laugh was infectious and her smile was nearly as big and loving as her heart. Her love for life and the outdoors almost matched the love she shared with her ‘hunny’ Garry.
One of Marlene’s most favorite pass-times was to ride her bike. Of all the things that she will be remembered for, one of them will surely be as the lady with the red hair biking along the highways around Rocky, picking bottles along the way! Marlene and Garry took every opportunity that they could to ‘head to the hills’ with their quad, camper and cat in tow! They spent a lot of their time exploring the Ram River area.

Marlene was predeceased by her husband Garry Courtright, her mother Neva Schnell and father Roy Hanson along with her son Danny Courtright, daughter–in-law Darcey Courtright and grandchildren: Veronica Courtright, Justin Courtright and Barbara Courtright.

Left to cherish her memory are Marlene’s sisters: Sylvia Harback, Maxine Lukye, Arylis (Doug) McDonald, brother Vernon Hanson, brother and sister-in-law Bill and Dot Fink, children: Roberta (Gerry) MacKinnon, Darryl (Carrie) Courtright, Gord Courtright, Julie Courtright and Lori (Barney) Bertagnolli, along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Marlene’s life will be held at the Chapel of the Rocky Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 11:00 AM. A time of refreshments and fellowship will follow. Cremation has been entrusted to Rocky Mountain Crematorium, Rocky Mountain House, AB.

Memorial donations in Marlene’s name may be forwarded to the Ladies Auxiliary att he Rocky Mountain House Health Care Centre.
