Obituary

Grace Klooster
(October 29, 1934 – January 17, 2019)

Our loving wife, mother and Beppe (Grandmother) went to be with her Lord and Saviour on January 17, 2018 at the age of 84 in Rocky Mountain House.

Grace was born in Harich, Friesland in the Netherlands into a family of 11 children. She came to Canada in 1961 and met Jake Klooster in 1963. They were married in 1965 and settled on the Klooster family farm near Rocky Mountain House. She lived life to the fullest, loving and serving those around her. She loved her garden (especially her raspberry patch), Thursday morning swimming group followed by coffee at McDonalds, volunteering with adults with special needs, crocheting and knitting, playing board games/crossword puzzles and having tea parties with her grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 53 years, Jake, 4 children, 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Anita (Neil) VanWaas (grandsons Mitchell (Caterina & great grandson Felix) and Taylor VanWaas); Francine (Chris) Nielsen (grandchildren Stefan (fiancé Nasseem Delrooz) Land, Arielle Land, Kayla (Aaron) Helmer, Josiah Land, Megan, Logan and Morgan Nielsen); Harry (Kate) Klooster (granddaughters Gracie, Maraleese, Aubree and Ashtyn Klooster) and Matthew (Leanne) Klooster (grandchildren Andrea, Shane and Ryan Klooster).
Grace was predeceased by her parents, an infant daughter, three sisters and one brother.

Wiep de Vries:
Today, on the Memorial Service of Grace, I like to offer my sincere condolences to Jake, his 4 children and grandchildren. Grace (Gre) and my mother have been girlfriends in their young year and by chance, last year, when Grace and Jake visited Friesland, I happened to be visiting too, as I live in California since many years... It was such a delight to see the girlfriends sit together and reflect for hours on their precious memories. My heart goes out to you all and I hope you will find today much comfort in all the loving memories of Grace, there, being together with family and friends! Jake, my heartfelt regret that you had to let go of your beloved Grace. Wishing you courage on your path forward and may your love for Grace warm your heart and give you fortitude to continue sharing your memories of Grace with members of your community. She was such a special lady!
Marilyn and Wade Collinge:
Francine and Chris---- Our condolences to you and your families.
Ian and Rhonda Kalverda:
Our condolences to your family on the great loss of Grace. We will pray that you will feel God's presence and comfort during this difficult time.
Tim and Carolyn Clow (Scholing):
Mr. Klooster, Anita, Francine and your families: It seems so very hard to believe that Mrs. Klooster, your wife and your mom is gone. Her life was a life lived to its fullest. A happy and long marriage, a wonderful family and a loving home were just some of the great things she accomplished. (I remember her as my Calvinette Counselor! Loved her!) With you as her husband, you as children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren her legacy will live on! We are praying for you all to surround you with comfort, peace, and love!
