Obituary

Schockenmaier, Margaret Rose
1942-2020

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our Mom, Margaret Rose Schockenmaier who passed away on January 21, 2020 at the age of 77 years in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta.
Margaret was born on the family farm near Tompkins, Saskatchewan on May 28, 1942 to parents Pearl and John (Jock) MacIntyre. Margaret was the youngest with five older brothers; she spent her childhood and school years in Tompkins between the family sheep farm and their house in town. In 1960 she moved to British Columbia and started her own family of four children, relocating the family to Rocky Mountain House in 1974.
The early years in Rocky, Margaret loved to tend to her garden, sew, and care for her family. She had many other jobs working in Meat Departments at various stores. I’m sure many kids would remember her joy of taking them for their free donuts and visiting them at the local Co-op. Margaret had many hobbies away from work: crocheting, quilting and doll making which so many family and friends received. Her biggest passion was planting flowers and gardening and she took such pride in her yard.
As grandchildren arrived, they became the greatest joy in her life; she was so proud of each and every one and spent every moment spoiling them. Then the great grandchildren arrived, her pride and love grew; each visit from then made her day so bright.
Margaret was predeceased by her parents John and Pearl, brothers: Hamish, Donald and John; sisters-in-law: Marry Anne and Marjorie.
Margaret is survived by her brothers: Billy MacIntyre and Archie (Merla) MacIntyre; children: Barb (Dean) Scott, Garry Schockenmaier, Wes (Tracey) Schockenmaier and Trish Rodtka (Kevin); grandchildren: Dallas (Kalyn), Chad (Julie), Brandon, Kristy, Nellie (Terance), Cassie (Larry), and Cleve (Mel); great grandchildren: Mali, Branson, Adleigh, Quinn, Brantley, Karter, Bennett, Dominic, Matthew and Brilyn; numerous nieces and nephews.

“Your life was a blessing
your memory a treasure.
You are loved beyond words and
missed beyond measure.”

A Memorial Tea for Margaret will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #8, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta on February 1, 2020 at 2:00 PM.
